Sean Henaghan and Mark Beardow will be appointed to the AMP Capital leadership team from 1 January 2014, reporting to AMP Capital Managing Director Stephen Dunne.
Sean Henaghan will become Head of the Multi Asset Group. In this role he will be responsible for the flagship diversified funds range, strategy and economic insights and also lead the team responsible for client portfolio management solutions across all asset classes. Mr Henaghan has been promoted from his current role of Head of Multi Manager and Investment Solutions.
In addition, Mark Beardow has been promoted to the role of Head of the Specialist Investment Teams. Mark is presently AMP Capital’s Head of Fixed Income and in this new role he will now also have the added responsibility for managing AMP Capital’s highly rated fundamental equities and multi strategy global investment management teams.
The appointments follow David Kiddie’s decision to relocate to the UK to join his family.

David and I are in discussions about the ways David can continue his involvement with AMP Capital,” Mr Dunne said.
In his current role of Investment Director, Multi-Manager and Investment Solutions for AMP Capital, Mr Henaghan is responsible for the management of AMP Capital’s flagship multi-manager capability, the Future Directions Funds (FDF) as well as the Responsible Investment Leaders (RIL) ESG Funds. He is also responsible for the multi-asset diversified fund portfolio management team. His role also encompasses oversight of the investment solutions/design function within the Multi Asset Group (MAG), which seeks to understand market trends and spearhead the development of tailored client solutions.
Mr Henaghan has extensive manager research and investment strategy experience stemming from his investment consulting background. He chairs the various Investment Committees, which provide both strategic direction and fiduciary oversight to the MAG workgroups which contain members of both the internal MAG team and representatives from MAG’s investment adviser consultants.
Mr Henaghan moved to AMP Capital in early 2006, prior to which he spent 12 years at Watson Wyatt in New Zealand, Hong Kong, London, and for the last four years in Sydney. In his most recent role at Watson Wyatt, he was a Director of Research with responsibility for the Asia Pacific region. Mr Henaghan has a Bachelor of Arts from Otago University majoring in Statistics and Economics and is a member of AMP Capital’s Infrastructure Debt Investment and Property Investment Committees.
Mr Beardow was appointed as Head of Fixed Income in August 2006. In this role, he is responsible for the management of AMP Capital’s active fixed income strategies including Credit Markets and Macro Markets, Commercial lending and Protected Growth, managing over 30 investment professionals across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and the US. He also serves on the Investment Committee Credit Investment Committee.
Mr Beardow has over 20 years of industry experience. He joined AMP Capital’s Credit Markets team in 1998 and during this time developed a highly-regarded specialist credit capability. Mr Beardow brings international experience to his role, having worked in London for Credit Suisse Financial Products and Swiss Bank Corporation in credit risk management and quantitative analysis positions.
Previously, Mr Beardow was Associate, Credit Portfolio at JP Morgan Australia, where he was responsible for credit analysis and exposure strategies.
