AMP Capital today announced Supriya Edwards has been appointed to the role of Fixed Income Analyst, effective 14 September 2020.
Based in Wellington, Ms Edwards will be supporting the New Zealand Fixed Income team in the active management of cash and fixed income portfolios. This includes utilising tools to enhance portfolio construction and conducting analysis to help drive the team’s research capability and fixed income strategy.
Ms Edwards has been with AMP Capital since 2014 as an Investment Performance Analyst. Prior to that she was with BNP Paribas in a performance and compliance role, and Asteron Life in unit pricing and administration roles. She has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Applied Finance from Victoria University and recently qualified as a CFA Charterholder.
AMP Capital Head of Fixed Income Vicky Hyde-Smith said she is pleased to recognise and develop the strong internal talent within AMP Capital.
“I am delighted to announce Supriya is joining our team as Fixed Income Analyst,” Ms Hyde-Smith said. “It again reinforces our strength and commitment to developing personnel within the AMP Capital New Zealand business.
“Supriya has 14 years’ experience in the financial services industry, with significant expertise in financial analysis. Filling this position with someone of her background and skills is key to ensuring the New Zealand Fixed Income team continues to deliver strong performance outcomes.”
This position recognises our commitment to deliver exceptional investment solutions for our clients and complements the skills of AMP Capital’s NZ Fixed Income team. I welcome Supriya’s appointment and look forward to her joining the team. AMP Capital Head of Fixed Income Vicky Hyde-Smith
The appointment of the Fixed Income Analyst role follows the recent departure of Warren Potter, Senior Portfolio Manager.
Ms Hyde-Smith added: “The Fixed Income Analyst role is a key part of our overall fixed income capability. And with portfolio managers Tim Mowbray and Carrick Lucas increasingly taking on more responsibility within the team as part of our succession planning, Supriya will provide extra coverage to support the investment process.
