AMP Capital appoints new NZ property fund manager

AMP Capital today announced Nick Cobham as Portfolio Manager of the AMP Capital Property New Zealand portfolio.

Mr Cobham will be responsible for delivering the strategy, growth and investment performance of the portfolio, which includes a diversified portfolio of office, industrial, retail and development properties with a value in excess of NZ$1 billion.

AMP Capital Head of Property Funds Management Chris Judd said Mr Cobham will commence his new role in late November.

Mr Judd said he was delighted to welcome such a respected property professional to the AMP Capital Property business, which is experiencing significant global growth.

“Nick is a highly experienced fund manager, who has worked in property and property funds management for more than 20 years,” Mr Judd said.

“A respected industry leader, Nick is a very capable and innovative portfolio manager with a track record of delivering compelling investment opportunities and consistent investment returns over the long term.”

Mr Cobham has been Joint General Manager of listed specialised industrial property investment company Property for Industry Limited for the last four years. Previous roles have included Development Manager for McDougall Reidy & Co Ltd and Auckland Manager for Capital Properties New Zealand Limited, which was taken over by AMP Capital in 2006 and many of the assets transferred to the AMP Capital Property Portfolio.

Mr Cobham joins another recent senior hire with Jonathan Armstrong appointed as Divisional Asset Manager – Retail in the expanding NZ property team.
