Stockland Townsville (including Nathan Street centre) is the dominant shopping centre in the geographical heart of Townsville and houses the region's only full-line Myer department store along with Woolworths supermarket, Big W,  and Kmart , a large selection of Mini Majors including Rebel Sport and Best & Less, a 700 seat food court and a large array of specialty stores. The centre recently welcomed the largest single-level H&M in North Queensland, a Swedish global fast fashion retailer to the tenancy mix. The centre provides the region's broadest retail offer and caters for a trade area population of more than 240,000 people and the local economy is underpinned by a diverse employment sector comprising defence, government departments, medical and education sectors. A $180 million redevelopment was completed five years ago which delivered a Myer department store, a Link Mall with specialty shops, 700 seat food court and deck car parking.
