AMP Capital is one of the largest investors in Australian shares and has a growing global presence in international equities investment.
We were the first Australian fund manager to be awarded a Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (QFII) licence by the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). We have a total allocation of US$300 million as at 30 June 2011.
We were also one of the first Australian fund managers to set up a sustainable investment team, made up of portfolio managers and environmental and social researchers.
Because of our size we can offer a range of specialist equities teams. Each of these teams focuses on extracting the maximum value from their particular investment style. With various on the ground teams in Asia, we are able to combine our depth of experience with strong local knowledge.

With over 70 years of experience in Asia Pacific, AMP Capital’s long-term presence and networks in this region provide proprietary access to deal flow. This enables us to gain insights into local markets and capture the best possible investment opportunities.
With Asia Pacific offices established in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and India, our investment team has experience and expertise in multiple locations and asset classes. AMP Capital was the first Australian company to be awarded a Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (QFII) licence to trade in China ‘A’ shares and has one of the largest Australia shares capabilities in our home market.

Key investment team
Karma Wilson
Karma Wilson joined AMP Capital in September 2006 and is responsible for the ongoing development of AMP Capital’s Pan-Asian investment capabilities, as well as management of the Asian Equities Team. Ms Wilson has managed the AMP Capital China Growth Fund, the first China A share fund in Australia, since its inception in 2006 and has managed the AMP Capital Asian Equity Growth Fund since its inception in 2008. Ms Wilson began investing in Asia in 1992 and has extensive funds management experience, covering a range of global equity portfolios.
